Privacy & Cookies

Last updated: 20 September 2026

MGANE Studio respects your privacy and aims to collect only the information reasonably necessary to respond to enquiries, provide photography and film services, process bookings and operate this website.

MGANE Studio is operated by Michael Gane, Somerset, United Kingdom.

Information you provide

When you contact MGANE Studio, request information, make a booking or purchase a service, you may provide information including your name, business or organisation name, email address, telephone number, project details and other information relevant to your enquiry or commission.

We use this information to respond to enquiries, prepare and manage commissions, communicate about projects, provide contracted services and maintain appropriate business and financial records. We do not sell your personal information.

Payments

Payments and booking deposits made through this website are processed securely by Stripe. MGANE Studio does not receive or store your complete payment card details. Stripe processes payment information according to its own privacy and security practices.

Information relating to a transaction may be retained where necessary for accounting, taxation, contractual or legal purposes.

Photography and film

Commercial commissions may involve photographs or film containing identifiable individuals. Where appropriate, MGANE Studio works with clients to establish the intended use of commissioned material and any permissions or releases required for that use.

Images and film may be retained as part of MGANE Studio’s professional working archive, subject to contractual arrangements, legitimate business requirements and applicable law.

Material will not automatically be published as portfolio work merely because it was commissioned. Where publication or promotional use requires specific client permission, that permission will be respected.

Photographic post-production

Where agreed for a commission, MGANE Studio may use photographic retouching, compositing and digital post-production to adjust surroundings, remove distractions or create alternative backgrounds. Some finished settings may be constructed rather than photographed as shown.

Such changes are not automatically applied to every commission. The nature of any digital alterations and the intended use of the resulting images will be agreed with the client.

Website enquiries and email

Information submitted through the MGANE Studio website may be transmitted by email and processed by the services used to operate the website and its email infrastructure. We retain correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to manage enquiries, commissions, contractual matters and business records.

Cookies

MGANE Studio deliberately keeps website tracking to a minimum. The website may use essential cookies required for WordPress functionality, security, forms, payments or other services necessary for the site to operate.

MGANE Studio does not currently use Google Analytics or similar advertising-based visitor tracking. If non-essential analytics, advertising or marketing cookies are introduced in the future, this policy and the website’s consent arrangements will be updated where required.

Embedded and third-party services

Parts of the website may interact with services operated by third parties, including payment, email, security or media services. Those providers may process limited technical information necessary to deliver their services and are responsible for their own privacy practices.

Google Search Console

MGANE Studio uses Google Search Console to understand how the website appears and performs within Google Search. Search Console provides aggregated search-performance information and is not being used by MGANE Studio as a system for tracking individual visitors around the website.

How long information is retained

Personal information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including providing services, maintaining appropriate business records and meeting legal, accounting or tax obligations. Different information may therefore be retained for different periods.

Your rights

Under UK data-protection law, you may have rights concerning your personal information, including rights to request access to information held about you, correction of inaccurate information, deletion in certain circumstances, restriction or objection to certain processing, and data portability where applicable.

You may also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you have concerns about how your personal information is handled.

Security

Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect personal information and the systems used to operate MGANE Studio. No internet-based system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but personal information is not intentionally collected or retained beyond what is reasonably required for the operation of the business.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as MGANE Studio develops, introduces new services or changes the technologies used by the website. The latest version will be published on this page.

When a client uses the MGANE Studio electronic agreement system, we retain the booking details needed to identify the commission together with the signer’s name, position, electronic signature, date and time of signing, agreement version and verification reference. This information is used to create and maintain the contractual record for the commission and may be retained where reasonably necessary for contractual, accounting, legal or dispute-resolution purposes.
