Alice & Ben’s Summer Wedding in Beckington

25 October 2026 Wedding Stories

There’s something rather lovely about photographing a wedding just down the road from home. Alice and Ben were married at St George’s here in Beckington, with a small gathering of close family and friends. Then it was off to Seymours Court for a marquee reception in the grounds, on a beautiful summer’s day.

A lovely couple, their gorgeous little daughter and the people closest to them. What more could you ask for?

Their ceremony was held in St George’s Church, right here in the village. It’s a beautiful place to get married. Looking down the aisle, past the wooden pews towards the great stone arch, you can see why.

Alice looked absolutely stunning. Her dress had such lovely detail around the neckline, and her bouquet of white flowers and greenery suited her beautifully. With Ben beside her and their family and friends gathered around, it was a wonderful ceremony to photograph.

Out of the church and into the confetti

Then came the confetti. I do love this part of a wedding. Everyone gets to join in, and for a few seconds the photographs are full of whatever happens. In this one, Alice and Ben are making their way through the petals with their guests on either side. You can almost feel the excitement.

And their little daughter was part of it all. That gives these photographs another meaning, doesn’t it? They’re a record of her parents getting married, with her there to share the day. I hope they’ll enjoy looking through them together for years to come.

A summer reception at Seymours Court

After the church, it was a short trip to Seymours Court, just outside Beckington. The house dates from the 15th century, and its stone frontage makes a gorgeous backdrop. For Alice and Ben, a marquee in the grounds and that lovely summer weather made a wonderful setting for their reception.

It was such a lovely local wedding to be part of. The church, the countryside and a beautiful old house, all so close together. There was no need for a long journey to find somewhere special.

A few photographs together, then back to everyone else

I like the photograph of Alice and Ben holding hands in the sunshine. Alice has her bouquet, Ben has his jacket on, and there’s a lovely softness to the light around them. A simple photograph of the two of them on their wedding day.

Then there are the photographs with the bridesmaids, and the guests enjoying themselves in the marquee. Those belong in the story just as much. You want to remember who was there and what it felt like to spend the day with them.

Thank you, Alice and Ben. A small wedding, a beautiful summer’s day and a lovely family to photograph. It was a real pleasure.
