Katie & Jack’s Wedding at The Pear Tree, Purton

26 October 2026 Wedding Stories

Katie and Jack chose The Pear Tree in Purton, Wiltshire, for a wedding with a small number of their closest people. Beautiful grounds, a little confetti on the steps and time to enjoy being together. A blinking lovely day to be part of.

I’m particularly fond of smaller weddings like this. You get proper time with the people who’ve come to celebrate with you. The photographs grow out of that: the conversations, the expressions and the way you are together.

Katie, and that beautiful dress.

Just look at that dress. I love the shape it makes around the curved teal seat, with the wooden floor beneath it. Photographing Katie from above gave us a lovely way to show it off, and she looked absolutely beautiful.

Then there were the little details: the veil, the shoes and the jewellery. Things she’d chosen for her wedding, and a lovely part of the collection to look back through.

Confetti on the garden steps

Then came that walk down the steps, with the confetti flying around Katie and Jack. Such a lovely moment after getting married, with their guests there to celebrate with them.

The steps at The Pear Tree make a gorgeous setting for it. A little organising so everyone knows where to stand, then I can watch the two of you and the people around you as it all happens.

A little time in those lovely gardens

The Pear Tree is a former vicarage in the Wiltshire village of Purton, with seven acres of grounds and its own vineyard. It’s a wonderful setting for a wedding, with plenty of places for a few photographs together.

I always think it’s worth taking a few minutes as a couple after the ceremony. A little wander and a chance to let it all sink in. The white garden pavilion is such a lovely place for that, tucked into the gardens with the trees around it.

We can make some beautiful photographs in that little bit of time, then you can get back to your guests. You’ve invited them because you want them there. Enjoy them.

Back to the celebration

Inside, the Orangery was set out with white tablecloths and soft pink details. All those windows and the glass above bring so much light into the room. It looked lovely, ready for Katie and Jack’s reception.

There’s a separate bar and dancefloor for the evening too. The reception and party spaces are a real part of the appeal of The Pear Tree: somewhere to bring everyone together and get on with the celebrations.

The two of you, being yourselves

I really like the photograph of Katie and Jack in the library. Jack perched on the arm of the sofa, Katie beside him in that wonderful dress, and the two of them smiling at one another. Bookshelves, warm light and a little moment together.

That’s what I want you to recognise in your photographs: yourselves. I’ll help with a little guidance when it’s useful, so you can settle in and enjoy being together.

Thank you, Katie and Jack. A beautiful wedding, a lovely setting and a real pleasure to photograph your day.
