Widbrook Grange Photographer
Widbrook Grange wedding photography / Bradford on Avon
Small weddings.
Plenty of character.
A garden ceremony, an old farmhouse full of interesting details and your favourite people around you. Widbrook Grange is a lovely place to make yourselves at home for the day.
I’m Michael Gane, a wedding photographer based nearby in Beckington. Laura and Ross’s military wedding here was a wonderful one to photograph: fabulous uniforms, plenty of laughter and a ceilidh in the evening.

A boutique venue close to home
The farmhouse.
The garden. Your people.
Widbrook Grange is a Georgian farmhouse hotel on the outskirts of Bradford on Avon, near Bath, with a converted barn and eleven acres of grounds. It offers both indoor and outdoor civil ceremonies.
It’s the character of the place that appeals to me. The old farming equipment and artwork around the gardens give us something interesting to work with. There are lovely spots for a photograph without disappearing on a long expedition.
Laura and Ross married outside, surrounded by the trees. Seeing their chairs and flowers arranged on the lawn, you can picture what a lovely setting it makes for the people closest to you.
Laura & Ross’s wedding
Smart uniforms.
Very happy people.
Ross and his wedding party included his fellow Lynx helicopter pilots, with groomsmen and a groomswoman all looking fabulous in uniform. Laura looked absolutely beautiful.
What I like about their photographs is the life in them. The two of them laughing together, their friends having fun and a little flower girl on the garden swing. There’s room for all of that in your wedding photographs.
You can read Laura and Ross’s full wedding story, with more photographs from the preparations and garden ceremony.

A little of the day on film
Press play.
Spend a moment with them.
Here’s Laura and Ross’s wedding montage. A little more of the day to enjoy, alongside the photographs.
Their evening celebrations included a ceilidh. It’s a lovely reminder to choose the sort of party you’ll enjoy being in the middle of.
Comfortable being yourselves
A little guidance.
Then enjoy your day.
You don’t need model confidence to have lovely wedding photographs. We can take a little wander around the gardens, have a chat and make a few photographs together. I’ll help when you need it.
Of course we’ll take the family and group photographs that matter to you too. I suggest a short formal list, then room for fun, impromptu photographs with friends throughout the day.
I’ve photographed weddings for more than thirty years. These days, I’m particularly drawn to the smaller celebrations close to home, where you can spend proper time with your guests. You can read more about my approach or hear from couples I’ve photographed.

Planning your Widbrook Grange wedding
A few useful things to know.
Is Widbrook Grange suitable for an intimate wedding?
Yes. The venue offers elopement and small-wedding arrangements, including options for a celebration with a small group of family and friends. Its intimate wedding information is a useful starting point. Ask the team which spaces and arrangements suit your guest list.
Can we have our ceremony outside?
Widbrook offers licensed indoor and outdoor civil ceremonies. Laura and Ross’s ceremony was in the gardens. Discuss your chosen space and a weather plan with the venue team, then we can work the photographs around your arrangements.
Can guests stay at the venue?
Widbrook is a boutique hotel with nineteen bedrooms. It also offers exclusive-use weddings. Speak to the venue about accommodation, availability and what your chosen arrangement includes.
How much time do you need for our photographs?
We’ll talk about what you want before the day. I suggest a little time for relaxed portraits and a short list of family photographs, with plenty captured while you’re enjoying yourselves. There’s more in the wedding FAQs.
